For those looking for games that don't have timers or stress you out, but challenge you to think a little, give this game a try. The first in the Chocolatier series, it is set in the late 1800s and you are tasked with going around the world to purchase supplies, track down recipes, and make and sell different types of chocolates. The only part of the game that has any type of "time-management" to it is the setting up of a recipe in a factory. Outside of that, there is no time management part. You are given requests to fulfill, but given plenty of time to do it in. The main purpose of the game is resource management. You have to make sure to keep supplies on hand, make sure you have enough money to purchase supplies, factories, and travel. The quality of the graphics are good but not great, but considering how old this game is, that is understandable. The storyline is engaging, and the characters interesting. The length of the game is long--it took me several days to finish--so a good bang for your buck. Definitely check this one out if you are looking for something a little different.
It's enjoyable and exciting to play!!!
This series is my top choice of games if you love building your company and products from ground up with beautiful places to visit and a great storyline.
Loved the game and the challenge. It takes a long time to get through but makes you want more. The game has a wonderful story line and keeps you motivated to do more. I love that i have to make up my own mind about things to keep my business going. loved it!!! loved it!!! jb
I just finished playing this game to its conclusion and really enjoyed it a lot. You can take your time and do not have to click click etc. It is easy to understand and keeps your interest. If you enjoy games other than H0 games try this one and you will probably want it. A lot of fun and long enough.
This game is a BLAST and what better way to stay thin than making and playing with virtual chocolate. Now, it took me a good 15 minutes to get the hang of what I was doing cause I don't think the directions are especially great - However, once you get down pat how to make the chocolate bars in the factory - the rest is a really competitive game of buying, selling and haggling! I LOVE IT! I bought this game as soon as the time was up cause, you know...it's chocolate and I don't want it to melt : ) Yum, chocolate. Okay, you start off in San Francisco and you need to move the cursor around a bit cause different establishments will light up and give you different information or you can purchase ingredients to make your candy bars, etc. Once you go a few rounds on the first level you are able to design and name your company! Next you travel to different destinations, buying ingredients, selling candy bars, or perhaps playing gambling with the locals. There's so much going on with this game that I would consider it strategy, time management and designing. Bought and played another 3 hours and was never bored - and it teaches math, probability, history and life skills! Are you sold? I am - maybe I'll buy it twice...oh wait! There's two more of these games - so, I'll get them instead ; )
I have all three games just try it and see for yourself
A very fun and unique strategy game. You set out into the world to make money by creating and selling different kinds of chocolate candy. Once you earn enough money, you can unlock new factories to make chocolates, buy more ingredients, and acquire shops. You also have the ability to move up in different ranks (novice, chocolatier, etc.), learn new recipes, and unlock new cities in the world to explore. This is one of the greatest games I have ever played, and I would highly recommend it.
I love everything about this game! The story is interesting, (if a tad non-original) But the game play is one of the types I love, structured goals, quests, and it's got a bit of marble popper type action when making the chocolate. Also, It's not a short game. It takes a while to finish. Overall, an excellent game! I recommend it!
this game is difficult to categorise because it includes features of several genres. it's a combination of strategy, travel adventure, time and resource management and "shoot 'em" games. in this game, it is 1880. you are a young Victorian era chocolatier, learning the secrets of the fictional Baumeister family business -- chocolates! to do this, you travel the world to purchase ingredients and factories, to sell your chocolates and to find (and sometimes purchase) recipes. you meet a variety of interesting people along the way. graphics: visually appealing cartoons, although they are nothing spectacular. mini-games are few but fun: when setting up a factory or when changing recipes, you "shoot" ingredients for the recipe into trays which then are made into chocolates. your speed at accomplishing this task sets the rate at which that particular type of chocolate is manufactured by that particular factory. the more of these trays you fill up within the limited time given, the faster the trays move (and the more chocolates your factory produces). if you miss a tray, you waste your precious ingredients. dice is another mini-game that you play whilst visiting local pubs. music: the background music is simple and bright and pleasant enough to listen to. storyline: interesting and believable. the story is very well conceived and carefully developed as it holds the entire game together quite nicely. gameplay: it's a rather intricate little game, and the help guide is ten pages long -- definitely read that guide before you play or you WILL be lost! (it only takes a few minutes.) there are two gameplay modes, free and story. when you start playing, you are automatically placed into free mode. story mode, which consists of a number of "quests", cannot be accessed until you unlock it from free play mode. there are 64 recipes you must obtain during the game, and achievements are awarded. the game keeps track of your achievements and scores and it will even display scores
