Entertaining

Great game, but also a bit strange, when I first start played the game.

Good but not Great

The Dream Chronicles series are some of my favorites, but this one was, as other reviewers have said, not up to the same level of challenge and thus not quite as fun. The fun was also spoiled for me with the whole "bubble popper/fill the tank" bit--you have to beat a bubble-popper style game in order to fly the ship, but you also have to collect stones for each and every game you play. So if you aren't a proficient bubble-popper, it takes many many many many trips (through several screens per trip, out to the stones and back to the ship) to get the ship going again, and this is ridiculously repetitive and tiresome. If they hadn't required this to fly the ship, or they had at least made the stones easier to get to, I would have liked this game a lot more!

GOOD GAME

Based on entire game - casual mode. ? More an adventure game. As in prior games in the series, you pick up dream pieces ? found everywhere, including the puzzles. But this time, they have a purpose . ? Many locations and scenes to visit. Great graphics. Pleasant music. ? Journal records clues for puzzles, notes from Tangle (so pick them up) and the story. No misclick penalty. ? Puzzles: varied and were not particularly difficult. I did find a couple that were rather thinky, particularly where I had to go to get all the pieces. ? Hint system has been improved over prior games. Now you get a magnifying glass to show where something is. ? Ending: Abrupt. Somewhat short. WHAT?S COOL - OR - NOT COOL (matter of personal taste): ? Generating fuel before embarking on journeys by picking up colored stones from piles you encounter. Consider picking them up whenever passing a pile and know you are out of fuel. ? Using the spell jewels. The Reveal Jewel is used whenever you go to the map to get the coordinates for your next destination. Then you have to set the coordinates after you?ve fueled up. There were other jewels, such as one to illuminate and one to make it rain.

Great puzzles for a HOG

Great visuals and good sound with subtle background music that doesn't interfere. Most of all, good puzzles for this type of game, which is really a short hidden object find and click. The problem solving puzzles were interesting and reasonably challenging, and take some logical thinking. But they can be figured out. If you're one who jumps online for the answer on "how", the game would probably be very short indeed. Think I'll try another Dream Chronicles....

HappyGramma

Ranks right up there with the "Drawn" series. LOVE it. The Dream Chronicles are all super challenging. Obviously I like the problem solving games. LOL

I was very surprised at how short it was!

I played this game in about 2 hrs! Compared to the first 2 games in the series this was very short. I couldn't believe that it was actually over. I enjoyed the game because I love the series, but I was kind of disappointed in the length of it. Judging by what some people are saying Book of Water is also short. I'm hoping that Chosen Child isn't quite so short, or I will be quite disappointed. I agree with others, Book of Air and Book of Water should've been combined into a 2 part game, as one purchase - this one seemed to be not worth the cost of a full price game.

Loved it

I really enjoyed this game - while the puzzles weren't that hard (dialog does tell you what to do), they were fun and varied - loved the clock gears, and walnuts. I really liked the graphics and sound and the story. Could have done without picking up all those jewels, but small matter. I finished this game far too soon - but no complaints on its length as these games cost 1/10th of what the big games cost. Can't wait to play the rest in the series.

TOO SHORT

Dream chronicles games are always inticing but also always way too short. The attractive graphics always fizzeling out about three quarters of the way through. I shall be hesitant to buy next time.

Unpleasant Dreams!

I have played other games in this series and although I have found them painfully subtle and difficult at times, this one just plain bored me. The artwork is lovely, the music and voiceovers are very nice but the story seemed pointless and unfinished. Dream Chronicles always leave a loose end or a plot twist in anticipation of a sequel, but this chapter in the saga offers no closure whatsoever. It starts out well enough with clever problem solving but the story never develops. Puzzles are beautifully presented and some are very innovative. However, some were so difficult that even after I figured out how they worked, completing them became a chore instead of a pleasure. I was tempted to click the skip button more than once, something I rarely do. There are wonderful things about The Book of Air, but the fun dissolves under the weight of tedious, repetitive tasks. I would like to see this series return to the mystical, magical game it used to be instead of a hurried chapter promoting the next game.

wow that was short.

I finished the game in about 2 hrs. Just seemed really short to me, compared to the other games in the Dream Chronicles series. I think maybe it was becuz the puzzles in this one were easier, dream pieces easy to find, and there were basically only 4 "destinations". I hope Book of Water is a little better, but based on other reviewers, I imagine it would be the same as this one, and they should have combined the two. I only recommend this game due to the storyline - if you have an interest in that part of it, as I did.
