Elementals Not

Not impressed at all. I purchased this one on the other recommendation and am not pleased. Very simple in construction, challenge and clarity. Just not much to my liking. Not much of a true HOG.

ENDING OF GAME IS FABULOUS

This is probably one of the few games that I remember playing (and sometimes struggling with) from 2 years ago that I not only thoroughly enjoyed but also always remember the ending with a big smile on my face.

Enjoyable with just the right amount of challenge

At first I thought this was going to be cheesy, but I gave it a try and ended up having a great time playing this game. FUN / CHALLENGE As another reviewer said, Elementals is more adventure than HO. Hidden object is just one among many types of puzzles. Unusual ones included a type of chess (easy to learn, difficult to master!), solitaire, and magic spells (? la Harry Potter). A lot of the hidden object scenes are for fragmented objects. There are no visual clues. Until you locate the first piece, you don't know what they look like or how many pieces there are. No instructions are given about how to solve a puzzle unless you click the hint button. I liked those added challenges. I appreciated that there was no timer, so I could take my time without unwanted hints from sparkles or glowy things. The Bonus button on the main menu allows you to replay any of the puzzles and battles. There are prompts sort of like sticky notes to remind you of the current task. With all the interruptions I have, I found them helpful, but they might make others feel coddled. The level of challenge was good. The puzzles required some fiddling to figure out what to do, but nothing too frustrating. As the chess games became progressively harder, I had to replay some of them to win. There seems to be a quantum leap in difficulty at the last boss level. That's when I got well and truly stuck. A change of tactic?the whole point of a strategy game?solved the problem. It was gratifying when I finally prevailed. VISUAL / SOUND I think the graphic style is beautiful. However, I didn't like the depiction of the humans (especially Sibelius) or sidekick Felly. They seemed cartoonish compared to the scenery and other characters. Much of the music is peaceful and pleasant, though it became louder and dramatic in sync with the storyline. I liked the music?and it did get stuck in my head for a few days?but I won't be adding it to any playlists. Ongoing sound effects like clicking stones and rattling gea

Fits no target audience

After seeing the two raving reviews, I thought I give this a bash, but realize now that those reviews must have been done by friends of the developers. The whole approach and style is for Kids, except there is so much reading in between and everything one sees or wants to do is in small written form, that Kids would run a mile in no time. The few HO scenes I came across where finding shape affairs, and the one puzzle was so oversimplified, yet nearly too complex to comprehend. All in all, I uninstalled after 20 minutes, and just cannot imagine what target audience the developers could have had in mind. Also, it was completely boring and it wasn't that clear what's even going on, how and why. Don't buy without trying, is all i can say!

Magical, cute & enjoyable!

One of the most positive games I have played recently. Nice mix of hidden objects & strategy fights, beautiful graphics and a nice storyline. A very relaxing and enjoyable game, good for younger gamers as well.

not my kind of game

i didn't really like this game even though i played until the end. the hint button charged fairly fast, but the skip button took quite a bit longer. different types of puzzles than is common in other games. played casual, no sound. graphics good .there is a set up for a sequel. i would try the demo first to see if you like it. some will, some won't, i think. more an adventure than a HO game! you have to find different pieces of items you need to put them together to use them. the ending did surprise me, though.

Something for Everyone

Indeed - Puzzles, tricky hidden object scenes, great story, battle games - whatever your casual gaming fancy, this provides . . . ! Fabulous toony graphics, & a sense of humor that doesn't take itself seriously - for example, in response to those who moan & groan about endless puzzles popping up, the protagonist reponds when a puzzle appears - "Not you with the cards again . . . ?!" Generous hint system from a magical companion - & an opt-out of the puzzles & battle sessions - keeps the game flowing . . . Fabulous . . . !

There are so much to love about this game

in this lovely adventure game, you are a young wizard, albert, whose sister, lily (also a wizard), was kidnapped by the evil sourcerer, sibelius. lily possesses the powerful magic Key of Eiron and your job, assisten by your familiar, felly, is to retrieve this key and rescue lily. pros: -- stunning, detailed and colourful graphic art -- adventure storyline -- many tasks to do (hidden objects, puzzles, games) cons: -- slow loading time; also slow loading between scenes graphics: truly gorgeous; rich, detailed and colourful. the graphics are so beautiful that they alone are worth the price of this game. sound: both the sound effects and the background music are appropriate. gameplay: i was so disappointed by the length of time it took for this game to load that i almost uninstalled it before starting the demo. there is only one level of difficulty. hints are available and recharge quickly. all games and puzzles can be skipped. scenes include at least a few hidden objects, and active sites are indicated with sparkles only after you've clicked around for a minute or two. you can only add hidden objects to your inventory after you've completed necessary tasks in the correct order. my interaction: i enjoyed this game so much that i purchased it before the one hour demo had concluded. this is a well-designed and graphically pleasing magical adventure that the entire family will enjoy.

Worth the price

Good game. It's one of the find all the pieces, figure out the puzzles games. Good family game. I liked the ending.
