Great game with lots going on. The graphics are great. Good music and voice over. Pretty good storyline that keeps you interested in wanting to keep playing. The HOS are good and some are interactive. The puzzles are also good. Some easy some needs some thought. There are lots of achievements to find which makes it fun. Seems like more than other games. The hint button works good and not too slow to recharge. Just a fun game. you will love it.
it's not often that a demo sucks me in to the point where I'm disappointed when it ends. and thanks to BFG for releasing it on a sale weekend! I rarely even trial CEs, but if you're going to give it to me at a discount... I absolutely love this game. the graphics are excellent, the sound and voiceovers above par. some of the best live actors in existence. the hidden object scenes are not difficult, but contain interactive items and find x candles, etc. there was a spot-the-difference, but it was a mirror image. the puzzles weren't difficult either but were fun. this game has more collectables than any I've played. you're looking for at least four different types of items. there are also achievements. the storyline sucked me in. I can't wait to finish the game and find out what happens!
I have been following this game on the developers website and was beyond thrilled when I saw it on BFG today. These are the same devs that gave you Final Cut: Death on the Silver Screen and Amaranthyine Voyage so you know you're going to get a top notch game. You are called to the scene to find out why everyone is leaving Lindon Orphanage. There are reports of a mysterious figure in red haunting the building. The location is spooky. The HO scenes are fun. The games are far from boring. The acting is great-not forced and fake. There are collectables to find and more than one. They have thought of everyone in this game. And to be able to purchase on a sale? Bonus! This game is well worth it. Now I must get back to my investigation. Happy Hauntings everyone!
After playing the demo, I became more interested in this game. Graphics however are a bit grainy but not too bad. Yes there are a lot of HOS almost too many for my taste, but they are fun and interactive. Lots of collectables, like crayons and tapes you can listen to that add to the story, but it is the story that drew me in. You never hang on to your objects very long and it makes sense where you need to apply them. Cutscenes are very lifelike where as the game is drawn. Map shows you where there are objectives to do. Good weekend sale to take advantage of this one
Didn't think I'd find this game anything but average from the description. But it's actually quite wonderful. You are a new reporter who has been sent by her editor to investigate a supposedly haunted orphanage which has been closed. Its former inhabitants claimed to see bloody red ghosts floating around. Story and gameplay are fairly fast paced and quite enjoyable. This is a buy for me. 3 modes of play. Voice overs and actors are very, very good. The puzzles are not too difficult, although I had to think a bit on what to do for a couple of them. I didn't find any instructions, but maybe I just missed them. The HOS were lists of distinctly detailed objects that were not too difficult to find and the scenes weren't unnecessarily crowded. Map shows where there are areas with outstanding activities. Journal shows your objectives and the evidence collected. There are 20 achievements. You should collect all letters, crayons, toys and I think there was something else but can't recall. I didn't play the tutorial, so don't know if players were told to collect them - I may have just stumbled across them.
I am definitely purchasing this game. The story line is intriguing and I just have to play it out to find out what happens. The HOG's however are extremely easy, but the other interactions of the game are really good. I just have to find out what happened to those children in the orphanage. Highly recommend this game.
This review is based on my playing experience after finishing the full game + Collector's Edition Mode. I finished them both in about 5 hours playing at the most difficult setting at my own pace which means without using hints or skips at puzzles, reading everything in my journal and enjoying the beautiful locations and music at their fullest. However, the most difficult setting was not at all so difficult because of the games' structure. You are using the objects found in near locations so you won't travel 9 locations to use an object found in the beginning of the game for example. Moreover, the map helps you travel fast and shows the available actions and goals to meet. You can turn that off in the Expert setting difficulty. In the beginning, the game could seem very short, as you cover the whole map very fast but then the map changes, having no way of turning back. I took that as a checkpoint and a beginning of a new chapter because you start fresh. The game seems very scary at first, especially when the red ghost is trying to pull you down, throwing a rock at you and scaring you continuously, but in the end you will see that you had no reasons at all to be frightened. The action takes place in daylight and what I enjoyed most is that it resembles the reality 100%. There are no supernatural powers, mythological creatures or extraterrestrial activities. The only thing which doesn't match is the red ghost whom you will uncover in the end. The story is sublime, you find audio tapes around your journey which reveal the past of the story and motivates you to continue. It features real actors in the cut-scenes. The music suit this game very much. The hidden object scenes are well done, you don't only need to find all the objects but you must interact with them to reveal new ones and also there's frequently a very easy mini game attached to them, like matching the shapes of some objects. The actual game puzzles are easy but I found 2 of them extra hard and I had
I did something I rarely do....buy a game based on reviews alone. Gotta tell ya I was not disappointed! One of the best to come down the pike in a while. Totally worth it for a CE and a lot of fun! Take a chance and I promise you won't be disappointed.
I loved this game...It was so real like..I like the fact of collecting items..I'm hoping because of the way it ended that there will be a part 2??...WTG DEVS GREAT JOB!!
