There are many hidden object games, skip this one and play the others.
yay, it's summer and time for holiday! and yes, there's a hidden object game for that, too! using this game, you can travel the USA and learn about various regions by exploring specialty shops that sell various items. graphics: each scene is a combination of photography and graphic art. some hidden objects are so hidden that the only way you'll find them is with the hint button, unless you want to adjust your computer screen lighting just for this one game. i also think the animations (after you've found an object) are slow and clunky. music: elevator music, and it repeats after eight bars or so. gets annoying really quickly. storyline: probably the most believable part of the game. my interaction: one hour demo, medium and hard levels. complaints: i was disappointed by the developers' bias for the central USA and east coast, when in fact, there's plenty to see and do all over the western USA, too. (San Diego was only west coast city on this map!) i was also disappointed by the artwork. the combination of photographs and drawings made the game appear to be thrown together without much effort or thought being put into it, especially since many objects in a scene did not pertain to the theme for that scene nor did they show me anything about the city, either (for example, what's a garden gnome and a buddha doing in a SD dress shop? and what do these items reveal specifically about SD? um, nothing!). many of the scenes were just plain cluttered and junky-looking, which i found stressful since it made me want to stop playing this game so i could clean my crib! in short: the idea is a good one, but it needs work and a lot of thought, so i don't recommend it.
The music and graphics left much to be desired
This game is totally HOS; no puzzles, and a very limited, although cute, story line. It has 3 levels of play. The easiest has no time limit on the HOS and quick hint button refresh; the middle level has a time limit on each scene (that I couldn't always make), with longer hint button refresh time, and the hardest level has shorter time limits and longer hint button refreshes. On all levels, you have unlimited hints, although in the timed levels, you can only get so many hints in before your time runs out. If you run out of time, you can replay the scene with no penalty, at least at the middle level, where I played. The scenes do repeat themselves through the game with some, but not all, different objects to find. The HOS graphics were clear and crisp, but some were so busy that you almost didn't know where to start. There was some limited information on real museums around the country that was very interesting, and some of the HOS were based on the contents of these museums. Some that were included in the game were, of course, an Elvis museum, a Pez museum, and my favorite, a roach museum. Makes you want to get in your car and take a trip. I rarely, if ever, play with sound and this game was no exception. I started out with sound, and the music was catchy and suitable to the museum being featured, but I simply prefer to play my games in silence. I think this would be a great, light-hearted game to start kids on, and for more experienced players, a straight dose of HOS to keep our skills fresh.
This is no fun at all. Washed-out backgrounds so it's almost impossible to find everything without using hints, very little story line and absolutely appalling music. 10 minutes was more than enough for me!
I played the trial period. It was strictly looking for hidden objects at various places around the US. There were no mini games during the trial. Some of the objects were hard to find but there was a hint button. If you just want to look for objects and nothing else, you might enjoy the game.
I kinda under the influence of a different game of same company that looks alike and I really loved the other one so I like this one to start with. This game is all about finding objects in a cluttered scene. nothing else really. The instructions are easy to follow, the graphics are OK, I myself like them. Music is OK, i didn't mind it, wasn't annoying like sometimes they have in games. I played the demo and have intentions to purchase this game.
This is nothing to get excited about. A straight hog drawn in cartoon form. The HOG scenes were way too bright so items tended to merge into whatever background they were on. Yes I could have adjusted my screen, but you shouldn't have to do that. Nothing redeeming or fun here at all. Way better games out there. No mini-games either.
An average HO game. Scenes are photographic quality rather than drawings, making it possible to recognize many items but not all. Finding the objects can be tricky, as many are hidden with tone-on-tone colors. In the relaxed mode, the hints refill quickly. Liked that the items are reasonably-sized, but some of the scenes, like the petroleum museum, are an overload for the eyes. Items in scenes are not very exciting and often have nothing tying them to the location. Definitely try before you buy.
This game is a nice upbeat pace from the dark and spooky games that seem to be popular at this time. The neat thing about this game is it has tidbits on places of interest in America and it lets the player go explore them without leaving the comforts of home. The music is catchy, but repeats often and the graphics are good. Some items, though, are hard to find. Another good thing about this game is it has 3 difficulty modes to choose from.
