Come for the Classic Story, Stay for the Addictive Game!

I have always been a fan of all things dark and spooky and the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is one of my favorites! This game not only tells the classic story with renewed energy, but it stays true to the mysterious overtones that has kept this story popular through the ages. The game is dialog heavy, which only adds to the addictive qualities that make you want to keep playing. But, nestled in between the dialog are stunning scenes with interesting objects to find and engaging tasks to complete. I love games where the things you find and do are important and drive the plot forward. You are an inspector, so it makes sense to look for fingerprints and evidence! It also makes sense to play a mini-game where you are following footprints to figure out where a possible suspect has gone. And there are many more... Bravo to JoinDots for creating a hidden object game that's not afraid to let the story take center stage, with the gameplay being the strong supporting cast!

Good Things Are In This Small Package

This is a well-made game with a great storyline based on the nineteenth century book by Robert Louis Stevenson. There?s a bonus section where you can practice or replay the puzzles in the game. The graphics are clear and the music is very good; just spooky enough to fit the story and yet relaxing, too... This game is great for its size, and even though it is a small game, I?m glad I found it!

Average with lots of dialogue

This game is like reading a book with the added bonus of some hidden object scenes & minigames. There is only one mode of play but there are no sparkles or glints to help & some the items are pretty difficult to find. The graphics & artwork are about average & the scenes a little dark but as we are in London during the 1800s who would expect anything bright; it suits the story which I enjoyed. There is no voiceover (except during the introduction) & you can click through the dialogue at your own pace. At times the music becomes annoying but then you move to another scene & it changes pace & tempo & reverts back to being pleasant to listen to. There are 5 hints to begin & if you use them you can find potion bottles throughout the game to top your hints back up to 5. I did find the misclick penalty pretty annoying. The mini games were pretty easy but it makes a pleasant change from having to wrack my brain.

Nice game overall - dialogue may be tedious to some

Pretty easy game. There is a lot of written dialogue - you get one person's dialogue and must click continue to get the next person's response. Can become a bit tedious after awhile. The puzzles are very easy. The case itself itself is interesting. The HOS are also easy - as you find objects, they are replaced with new ones. If it weren't for the slowness of clicking through all the dialogue, this would be a game I would play when I just wanted a pleasant afternoon without losing my mind over puzzles or what to do next.

The mysterious Case of Nonrenewable Clues

It took me forever to finish this game, I ran out of clues twice and had to go back and start over. The graphics were good, but there was too much dialog, and too few mini games. I love HOG games, but like some variety added, this was just one hidden object scene after another, also the intro played every time I opened the game. I loved the way the game followed the original story, but felt it lacked interest.

FOGGY

Just finished the demo..and I did like the graphics alot.the foggy England weather...but that is about it..I didnt like the reading of the talking heads..the constant HOGS and I am a big lover of HOGS but this game had no break from them..storyline was good..pretty well stuck to the book about Jeckle and Hyde...I would recommend this game for beginners

3 Minute Review

Played for 3 minutes and it was all reading. I don't mind that so much but what made me delete the game was....the penalty for clicking. When you buy a game I believe you should be able to click your head off!! =)

Literary, static game rife with frustrations.

The game has decent atmosphere, but is very static. Characters are shown as talking heads, but with no animation. There are no cut scenes or interactions with the environment, just hidden object scenes with occasional puzzles. There are regular reading sections, with decent writing, that seem to be trying to hold on to Jekyll and Hyde's literary tradition. Frustrations are with the hidden object scenes and puzzles. Puzzles are so simple that I consider them activities rather than puzzles- just busy work. Hidden object scenes are too often filled with confusions or inaccuracies. A "pow" is actually a pawprint. A "pumpkin" is a moon with a face on it reminiscent of a jack o'lantern. "Dice" is actually an alphabet block. And on and on. Several items seem to be VERY stylized or abstracted versions of what you're looking for. Overall, the game is just not worth the effort.

Badddddddddddddddddddd

Sorry but I did not enjoy this at all. Was hard to see and too much on the bad dialog just all around bad game.

Too Many Negatives

What can I say? This is awful. The premise is good and the game could have been good but it's almost like it's punishment. The misclick penalty is obnoxious, especially when the player has to click on the correct item three or four times. The colors in the HOS are so washed out that I literally could not see some objects and moving the screen did no good. I usually don't comment on the music. I'm making an exception. It's bad and I don't mean a little bad but really, really bad, full of clangs and bangs. When you click on an object you get some bangs as a reward. Whee. If I had decided to continue playing I would have shut it off if possible. You get five hints. If you use one you can get one in the next scene if you find a potion bottle. I ran out of hints quickly and one potion bottle does not replace five hints. Why such a limit on hints? I play to enjoy myself, not to be worried about not being able to see objects or to watch the cursor dance around or listen to just about the worst music I have ever heard. I can't recommend this game, not even as a DD - not when there are so many good games to play. I think this must be an older game; it has the look to it and it plays clunky.
