Although there is no way to change background colors, and the music I had to turn off because it drove me nuts, there is several different versions of the same game and you can change tile colors/patterns. I use this game especially when I only have a few minutes of down time or I am downloading another BF game. Not a bad game
I love dominos. I play real ones as well as virtual ones. I really had high hopes for this game. I had to curbed the impulse to buy this without trying the trial as is my usual habit and I am very glad I did. This game is not the best dominos game I have ever played. Although it is not the worst, that reall isn't saying much. Yes, the option of downloading your own backgrounds is neat and, yes, you can have multiple profiles like many other games. However, the only games I won were the standard block games I played. The other versions were always skewed in the computers favour as the computer selects your tiles for you in all games. Out of twenty games played of any of the scoring versions, the computer had the highest double eighteen times. The computer also had more of the tiles to score with than I did. The scoring games need multiples of 3, 5, 6, or 9 to score (example: in the 5 multiple game, a double 5 get you ten points], with the winner of the game scoring the total points of the tiles left in the loser's hand. Each of the scoring games is out of 100. So you play against the computer until one of you runs out of tiles, the winner adding the leftover pips to their score and you continue to play until one of you scores 100 points. Every time I came close [91, 94, 96 points], the computer managed to get to 100 [or more) within the next turn. I thought I must be playing poorly so I got some help from someone. They watched the scoring pieces and I watched the play. We still lost. I know this sounds very 'sore loser' but I like a game that allows for the chance to win occationally. As I said, I had such high hopes for this game. I think I will just uninstall it to free up space for something less hopeless and more fun to play.
The computer is a challenging player which keeps my interest peaked. I beat up the computer several times but the computer slamming me sometimes is good fun as it sharpens my skills. I enjoyed the demo and I am going to purchase this game. I am giving four stars because I would have liked to see my opponents animated with fun back talk chats while the game is being played. I hope a developer is taking notice. Come on in this day and age Bigfish you can put out a better Dominoes game than this. Adopt the skill level but improve the animation and make it more real an lifelike. Like some of the poker games for instance.
